Successful first Intensive Week in Greece

From May 30 to June 3, traditional music students and staff from partner institutions participated in the first Intensive Week of the TUNE project in Arta, Greece.

38 traditional music students and a dozen teachers and staff from partner institutions participated in the first Intensive Week of the TUNE project, hosted by the Department of Music Studies at the University of Ioannina, Arta campus, Greece. Participants included students and staff from the University of Tartu, Viljandi Culture Academy (Estonia), the University of Southeastern Norway, Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo (Galicia, Spain) and pôle Aliénor-Poitiers (France).

This first Intensive Week was an opportunity for students and teachers from partner institutions to participate in workshops, lectures, ensemble work, performances, and social activities. The days were focused on Greek traditional music practices, as well as showcasing the music traditions of the other represented countries. Workshops included music and dance demonstrations; students also rehearsed for and performed in a final public concert at the historic Castle of Arta.
